Raquel Basco is an actress, model, and current titleholder for Miss Bay Area USA, She is known for her advocacy work in mental health and has dedicated the last seven years of her life to her platform in pageantry. 

 

She began her pageant career in the Miss Intercontinental Organization. Started as Miss California, Miss USA, and took 2RU for Miss Photogenic at Miss Intercontinental in 2016. Then later the following year, this Bay Area native placed first runner up for Miss World America in 2018.  She then continued to focus her efforts on her advocacy work at the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention in Hawai'i before continuing on the last chapter of her pageant journey to Miss International in 2019. In Japan 2019, she won the title of Miss International Oceania. 

 

Raquel is currently the director of two non profit organizations, Balik to School and The Coleen Orphanage Project, and an advocate for American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Her platform is focused on eliminating the stigma of Mental Illnesses on the International Level with hopes of helping educate, raise awareness, introduce public services, campaigns, and most importantly opening up the room for discussion.

 

Her modeling career consists of working with designers like; Veejay Floresca, Jovani,  Terani, and Andrea and Leo. Raquel has been published in local and international magazines.

Her passions include singing, dancing, and acting. She is experienced in commercial modeling and film. Her hope is that her influence in the entertainment business will challenge stereotypes and make way for other woman artists and models of color.
