“For so long, I took myself way too seriously as an artist. I thought that because I’d never made music before, anything I created wouldn’t be ‘good enough.’ So I decided to flip that script. I wrote this song to just have fun — to be a little girlie-pop moment — especially during my favorite time of year.

But the truth is, the holidays can carry so much grief too. I wrote this during a season where I had to grieve the Christmas I imagined… and still choose softness and joy anyway.

‘I Got Me This Christmas’ became a tiny love letter to anyone healing through the holidays, finding small pockets of magic, and choosing themselves gently. It’s okay to live in duality — to laugh and to feel. That’s what this song holds for me.”
